Sinister Dexter is a Bay Area band that has been around for 11 years with the current core members having played together these last 5.

We've always had a horn driven sound, and over the years we've gone from being a swing and blues band to one that focuses on the funk and soul sound our audiences love. Still, our book is varied, so we can always pull out some dirty blues or something with an afro-cuban influence to mix things up a bit.

Our influences range from legends such as Tower of Power, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, and the Booker T. & The MG's, to artists at the forefront of new soul music such as Amy Winehouse, Joss Stone, and Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings.

While the members and mix of genres has changed, our goal has always been to be the local band that we would go out of our way to see ourselves. For us, that means featuring a thick, powerful horn section, dance-inducing grooves, and soulful vocals. If you love these things the way we do, then you must come see us!
